Needless to say, the last 12 months have been tough on everyone and are still very challenging for both households and companies. Apart from the enormous impact of Covid-19, the challenges that businesses and individuals faced, went much deeper than that.
In addition, CoCre8 Technology Solutions opened its doors on 1 April 2020, without any realisation of how different the year would be for people across the globe. From the onset we were forced to face several extraordinary challenges head-on.
Starting what was effectively a new company, we needed to establish a presence and make a name for ourselves during a year that was hard-hitting – from an economic as well as a strategic point of view – but with amazing support from clients, partners, and dedicated staff, we have indeed managed to build an extraordinary name in the industry.
Another change the last year has seen is a dramatic transformation in the Technology required to build a robust business. Traditional technologies and processes have, in many instances become a handicap, forcing change, severely damaging businesses which lacked the required agility.
We have experienced a dramatic change in the way we all work and do business, which has had the effect of advancing the digital transformation agenda by years. What people are buying, and therefore, what we need to be selling, has changed dramatically. This is not a temporary technology cycle; we are looking at a permanent impact.
Conversations with customers is now all about data. We need to make sure the solutions we offer properly connect, analyse, store, and protect the flood of data that underpin the new business imperatives.
Covid has significantly fast-tracked Digital transformation plans and priorities.
As a collective we need to rethink what integrated tools will be required by organisations when it comes to data capturing to ensure that we can make meaningful business decisions.
Of course, customers’ changing needs imply that we must develop new skillsets ensuring we are offering meaningful solutions. I have always maintained that trust and thought leadership are the most important virtues of our business. They are more important than ever before, especially during this time of rapid and profound change we are experiencing.
CoCre8 takes trust and thought leadership seriously. We have invested in developing an ecosystem of partners who complement each other, ensuring we can provide the best possible service.
Increased complexity of solutions means that no single entity can do everything on their own, it would be arrogant to think that we can. We partner with select niche players that complement our offerings, allowing us to collectively craft solutions, indeed that is why we are called CoCre8.
Current economic circumstances mean that customer budgets are stretched, they need to spend wisely. It is vital that they now surround themselves with people they can trust, people who are investing in thought leadership and skills.
Again, as we end our first year in operation and look forward to what is lying ahead, it is an opportune time to thank the people who have made it possible: our people, channel partners, suppliers, alliance partners and customers.
Together we have made it through a challenging year and fortunately, we have been able to invest in staying relevant and doing more going forward, but do not for a moment think that it is going to be smooth sailing. The year ahead is going to be just as tough.
The economy is still going to be constrained, our customers however need to push forward with their accelerated digital transformation agendas. That is why we have focused our investment on adding to our hybrid cloud eco-system encapsulating Digital business services, cyber security, public cloud, converged and hyper-converged skills with the appointment of six extremely senior people.
This form part of the massive investment we are making in thought leadership and trust.
These investments are paying dividends at home as well as in the rest of Africa. I believe we are going to be pleasantly surprised at how quickly and effectively organisations across the continent will adopt digital transformation.
Overall, we are confident that the next 12 months will see us continue to offer our customers the high level of solutions and skilled services that they expect from us. Our promise is to provide thought leadership and drive success in the year ahead.
